What's New?
What's New in this version of MailRules 2?
2.001.0102
- Advanced Rule Profiles have new AutoHide property to allow you to choose whether the notification window should stay open or be hidden after 30 seconds.
2.001.0096
- New! Help menu has Request Upgrade option. An e-mail is sent to our MailRules server and you will be returned the latest version of MailRules. The upgrade is automatically performed during an Inbound Check.
2.001.0090
- New! Before beginning communications via e-mail, you can check that you have the right e-mail address for your recipients. Check out the new Verify option in the Address Book.
2.001.0081
- New! Datasources can be used to export data to Access databases or text files.
- New! Non-standard formats can now be used as Datasources.
- New! POP only: Inbound Rules can be applied to particular POP Accounts.
2.001.0079
Flexible encryption options on Standard Outbound Rules. You can now encrypt the files you send using Standard Rules. If you transmit your files zipped, a MailRules Inbound Rule can automatically unencrypt the files.

Big improvements implemented to protect your system integrity:
- Inbound and Outbound filters enable you to prevent the accidental receipt or transmission of certain file types. Find Filters on the Advanced Settings.
- Profiles for Advanced Rule reception. Define multiple Advanced Rule passwords and restrict the operations that people can perform on your machine. Find Profiles on Settings.
- New option on Inbound Rules (and on the Where tab of Outbound Rules). Replace Files drop-list now has an option of Never which means that if a file already exists, it will not be replaced by an incoming version under any circumstance.
Other new features:
- New option on Inbound Rules allows you to "cancel and requeue" the Inbound Check. If you're running external processes on your received files, you might need to wait for them to complete before reading more e-mail. This option allows you to stop MailRules reading e-mail until a time you specify (acknowledgments to Varaldo in Italy for this one!)
- New help file! We've bought a new toy and completely redesigned the help file, giving it a standardised look & behaviour. The MailRules Help Author is so happy with his new toy that he wrote the What do I do with MailRules? section, which has a series of concepts and example implementations that illustrate a variety of ways of using MailRules. You can check the on-line version of the helpfile at our website (www.mailrules.com) for updates. User Group members can request a helpfile via e-mail.
- MailRules is now Service capable. e-mail support@mailrules.com for details.
2.001.0045
- New! Catalog files on an Outbound Rule. Ideal for software distributors! In an Outbound Rule, using the Send Files When option allows you to only transmit those files that have changed. However, the first time you Send the Rule, all those files must be sent. Not any more. Use the Information button to access the "Build Catalog" option when you first create your Rule and the Rule will not have to do that initial send of all files.
2.001.0040
- Enhancement: If your Outbound Rule is in the Retry queue, click Edit or Send Now and you can push or cancel the retry.
2.001.0030
- New! Save message header in Inbound Rules.
2.001.0023
- New! Use Distribution Groups as Sender in your Inbound Rules.
