Description

Working Folder

The MailRules Working Folder is a location where MailRules is store store all temporary files objects generated by both inbound and outbound e-mail, it's database and log files, and also where your Done folder resides.

Set the MailRules Working Folder either by typing the path in the field or navigating to it using the browse button.

We cannot anticipate the manner in which you will deploy MailRules we can only suggest that you ensure there is significant available space. We recommend an asolute minimum of 10 Mb free space, and if you are performing large file transfers to multiple recipients using Surefire Delivery that we would recommend greater still.

Mail Retries

Transient conditions on the Internet may make your mail server unavailable. If MailRules is attempting to send or receive e-mail, it may encounter a situation that prevents it from completing the task. This setting allows you to specify a number of retries that MailRules should perform before abandoning the task entirely (see also Interval between Retries). This setting is largely only for persons using SMTP/POP protocol, as opposed to persons using MAPI in a corporate environment where the mail queue will be handled by your local mail server.

Interval between Retries

If tasks have been placed in the retry queue (see Mail Retries) it is sensible to allow some time to elapse before attempting to retry the task. This setting allows you to specify the duration (in minutes) between attempting a task.

'Done' Folder

The 'Done' folder is a subfolder of the MailRules Working Folder. If an Outbound Rule specifies, files transmitted by MailRules are copied to the Done Folder.

Selecting Single Done Folder will simply store all transmitted files into the one folder.

Selecting Multiple Done Folders will create a subfolder of the Done Folder for each Outbound Rule, using the Rule Name as the folder name and the files will be stored therein.

Please note that Outbound Rules have assorted options to help you manage your archive of transmitted files: See Copy Files to Done folder on the How tab of Outbound Rules.

Audible Notification

If selected, you can select a sound file to be played each time an Inbound Rule is processed or an Advanced Rule that requests notification.

Animate System Tray Icon

If you find the spinning icon annoying, you can stop it spinning by deselecting this option.

MailRules Footer

The Mail Rules Footer check box allow you to turn off the MailRules footer message inserted at the bottom of each Standard Outbound Rule. We think that MailRules is such a great tool that you may want to tell other people about it.
