This is where you configure MailRules to run on your machine and get access to some of MailRules more advanced feature settings.

Settings - General

General Settings

Here you need to specify the e-mail protocol you are currently using. The e-mail protocol will be the same protocl used by your existing Mail Client.

Option

Description

MAPI

If you are using Microsoft Outlook (not Outlook Express), Microsoft Exchange or other MAPI compliant e-mail program you should select this option.

When selected MailRules will check your system for a valid MAPI configuration. If you receive an error message, please check te Microsoft Outlook Users section of the help file.

SMTP/POP

To configure MailRules to send & receive e-mail using the SMTP/POP protocols, select this option. You will then be asked to enter your SMTP/POP settings.

Edit

Provides further configuration options for your MAPI or SMTP/POP protocol.

e-mail Address

Enter your e-mail address here.

Notify me of Unread mail

When MailRules reads your e-mail if you have messages that it ignores and that you have not yet read, it cannot optionally notify you.

Advanced Rule Reception.

Advanced Rules allow other MailRules users to deliver data to you without your intervention.

Description

Enable

You must explicitly enable others to send you Advanced Rules with this option. If you select this, you must also enter a Password.

Profiles

Display, edit and manage your Advanced Rule Profiles.

StartUp Options

Option

Description

Automatic Startup

If selected, MailRules will start automatically whenever you start Windows.

Inbound Rules

If selected, MailRules will automatically check your e-mail for new messages when MailRules starts.

Outbound Rules

If selected, MailRules will transmit those Outbound Rules that were scheduled to run between the time MailRules was last shutdown and now restarted.
