Here, you can launch external applications and/or trigger an Outbound Rule:

Option |
Description |
Run application after processing Rule |
This allows an application or batch file to be launched when a rule has been processed. After you have ticked this box, you can specify the application and it's details. |
Run this Outbound Rule |
Select an Outbound Rule to run. Note that the Outbound Rule will be queued and will only be transmitted once the processing of all Inbound Rules is complete. |
Reply to sender |
You can automatically mail the person who triggered this Inbound Rule by selecting this check box. When this is selected the Outbound Rule will only be sent to the person who sent the message that triggered the Inbound Rule not any addresses in the To: field. However, any addresses in the CC: and Bcc: fields will be copied the message as normal. |
Do not process any other Rule |
Selecting this option will stop any subsequent Inbound Rules from running on this particular e-mail message. This means that, should you choose this feature and the Rule is triggered, no other Inbound Rules will be run, even if the conditions exist that would otherwise trigger a Rule. See Ordering Rules. |
Abandon & requeue Inbound Check |
Selecting this option will cancel the current Inbound Check and requeue for later. If you use this feature in conjunction with Run this external command or Run this Outbound Rule, then the Inbound Check will be cancelled and rescheduled until either the command has completed or until the wait time has elapsed. When an Inbound Check is rescheduled, no intervening Check Times will be activated (manually clicking Check Now will allow you to force an Inbound Check). |

Option |
Description |
Run Application |
This allows an application or batch file to be launched when a rule has been processed. Select the application using the browse button to the right. As a guideline, any command that could be executed from the Windows 'Start', 'Run' prompt can be used here. |
Attachments |
Allows you to insert the names of file attachments received into the command line |
Test |
Launches the external command you have specified. |
Wait until complete |
This is only required if you are triggering an Outbound Rule as well as running an external command. This could be required where you are running a batch file that triggers other processes. MailRules will only recognise the end of the original process not the subsidiary ones. The timer function is enabled to allow you to set a suitable time delay for any subsidiary processes to end. |
