Here you determine what MailRules should do with any file attachments to the e-mail:

Option |
Description |
Attachment Storage Directory |
You will need to specify a directory or an Alias to where you want the attachments saved. This can be anywhere on your local machine or a location on your network. You MUST specify a directory, even if you do not expect to receive attached files. |
Unzip *.ZIP files |
If you receive a Zip file, this option will automatically unzip it. If the Sender has sent you the file using MailRules (Standard Outbound Rule with Encrypt option), if you have an entry for the Sender in the address book with their password, then an encrypted file can be unzipped. |
Replace existing file |
These four options allow you to specify which files in the recipient directory or Alias are to be replaced:
Note: Date/time can only be reliably checked on files that have been sent as zipped files and unzipped using the Unzip ZIP files option. This is because when a file is transmitted by e-mail and saved at the destination by the mail client, it is effectively created as a "new" file - hence would always have a later datestamp than any other file. Note: Not all files have version numbers; please see File version numbers |
This rule is ONLY triggered if attachments are saved. |
Selecting this will trigger the rule only if any file attachments are saved. With this unticked, other Inbound actions (such as saving message body) will be performed as usual (that is, if the message meets the criteria). |
