Click Outbound on the main menu to view your Outbound Rules. The Outbound Rule pane allows you to Add, Edit, Delete, prioritise (Rule Order) and send (Send Now) your Outbound Rules.

The primary function of any Outbound Rule is to transmit data. Outbound Rules come in two flavours, Standard and Advanced. A Standard Outbound Rule creates & sends an e-mail that may be read by any standard mail client or by MailRules (if the receipient of the e-mail has MailRules installed). An Advanced Outbound Rule can creates & sends an e-mail that can only be read by another MailRules and contains instructions for the recipient MailRules on how to handle the data that has been transmitted.
The implementation of Advanced Outbound Rules requires some planning and preconfiguration of the target machine in order for the smooth running and successful application of all the rule parameters. Before assembling your Outbound Rules you should have a very clear picture of what you are trying to achieve and have the folder structure of the target machine clearly defined. These two pieces of information will help you to achieve maximum results for minimum effort.
Once you have this stage under your belt try to think beyond the simple transferring of files and folder contents and consider how the files you are working with can be manipulated further to extend the functionality of MailRules .
