Maintaining Advanced Check Times

Click the Advanced button on the Check Time menu to access the Advanced Check Time screen:

Check Times - Advanced

Here you can see that the flexibility of Check Times are significantly expanded. Using the Advanced Check Times dialogue box we can set simple check times and advanced frequencies.

For example, a basic frequency could be set to check your e-mail every day at 15 minute intervals or on specified days at 5 minute intervals.

An advanced frequency check time can include a range of times. e.g. Monday to Friday between the hours of 08:00 and 19:00 at 15 minute intervals

The first choice you need to make, is if all days are going to be the same or, if you are going to edit individual days.

After specifying the schedule type and the days, you will need to specify the type of checking schedule required.

As with the Add button you choose either Specific or Frequency modes.

Specific mode will allow you to choose the hour and the minute the checks are to be made on the days that you have selected.

The Frequency mode allows you to choose between basic and advanced options.

Choosing basic will allow you to set the interval between checks for incoming messages. A setting of 15 in the interval box will instruct MailRules to check the server every 15 minutes.

The Advanced option extends this by allowing you to choose a range of times during which the server will be checked at specified intervals. e.g. A setting of 8:00 - 18:00 at 15 min intervals means that every fifteen minutes between 8:00 and 18:00 MailRules will check for incoming messages with the first check being made 15 minutes after start time.

By selecting the Check at Start Time box MailRules will check at 8:00 and then at fifteen minute intervals until 18:00. If this is not selected then the first check that MailRules does would be at 8:15.
